A night market on the lines of 'China Town' now operating in
Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong is to be set up in Hambantota on the
initiative of Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa.
Once it is set up, the market will be open to the public from 9am to
4am the following day on a daily basis, Rajapaksa said.
He said 1,000 local and foreign traders will be invited to put up
shop at the market to sell their products and wares.
A large number of customers including employees attached to the
Mattala Airport, Hambantota Port, proposed IT park, residents and
visitors to the region are expected to patronise the facility, he added.
