The event will host numerous bands from local and international
talent and will take place at a range of venues all over Colombo,
allowing the audience plenty of opportunities to catch their favourite
musicians in performance.
The idea of having such a mega musical event which has a different
approach germinated in its founder and director, Haadia S. Galely’s
brain.
“I believe in the power of music, in any form, to make sense of life,
through all forms of expressions, empowering us to change our world for
the better. Music festival will showcase not only the music prowess of
our home ground but also of South Asian region and world renowned
artists in every genre of music. I find the younger generation excited
about it because it focuses on youth activities,” she said.
“Music is important to form social integration. We are not only
creating the platform for Sri Lankan musicians but we are bringing in
the world for our children. It is a workshop for children.
This event will expose Sri Lanka to the world, she added.
“We are hoping to make it an annual event. I hope to extend it to
other parts of the country as well in the coming years,” Haadia said.
