Remanded for alleged threat

Ratnapura magistrate yesterday remanded a person who has allegedly threatened a Ceylon Electricity Board employee at CEB Engineers' Office in Ratnapura for working. The magistrate remanded the suspect until September 5 on charges of threatening CEB employer Dissanayaka at work. Ratnapura Police arrested the suspect after a complaint by Dissanayaka that he was threatened to stay away from work at the CEB Engineers' office by the suspect.

"The police took the suspect into custody at 10.30 am and charged him with obstructing Dissanayaka's right to freely perform his duties , " the police said.
