A ceremony to mark the unveiling of
the pinnacle of the newly built Chaithya of Sri
Bodhirukkarama Viharaya at Rividevgama, Keselwatte, Panadura
was held under the patronage of the Maha Sangha and the
participation of Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa. The installation
of the casket containing the Sacred Relics of the Buddha in
the viharaya, built to coincide with the 2600th
Sambuddhathva Jayanthi, was performed by Prime Minister's
Secretary S Amarasekera. Chief Incumbent of Sri
Bodhirukkarama Ven Kirinde Pawarasoma, the Maha Sangha and
Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka also

About 2,500 Sri Lankan youth set a
Guinness World Record for the largest human mosaic by
forming the shape of the world map to celebrate
International Youth Day on August 12. The event was
organized by the National Youth Services Council with United
Nations Volunteers in association with the Youth Affairs and
Skills Development Ministry and the United Nations. Here the
