Examiner on the mat

The Examiner of a Colombo Advanced Level examination centre was relieved of his duties by the Examination Commissioner for not communicating the amendments of the Physics examination paper to the A/L exam invigilators at an examination centre in Colombo during the examination held on Monday.

The amendments to the paper had been sent to the relevant examiner though the students were left in the dark. From this year the A/L question papers are rechecked before the examination date and if any errors are detected, the amendments are sent to the examiners who will in turn communicate them to the candidates. Accordingly the examiner had been issued with the amendments prior to the exam.
