Take Ayurveda to the world - minister

"The time has come to take the indigenous medicine (Ayurveda)
practice to the world. This should be done through appropriate
standardization certification by documenting the teachings, information
and details relating to local plants and herbs to be passed on to future
generations for the use of Ayurveda doctors and local indigenous
medicine practitioners, Indigenous Medicine Minister Salinda Dissanayake
said.
The minister was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the "Suva
Divi Sariya" health camp held at the Kurunegala District Secretariat
Office premises, recently.

The "Suva Divi Sariya" health camp series organized by the Indigenous
Medicine Ministry under the Directions of Minister Dissanayake and full
sponsorship has provided by the FKC I Asia (Pvt) Ltd. Minister
Dissanayake organized this health camp programme to develop the
knowledge of Ayurvedic practioners on the latest findings and
technologies regarding natural herbs, nutritious foods and food
supplements.
The minister acknowledged and praised FKC Company for coming forward
to sponsor this programme and join hands with the ministry to uplift the
status of the "Ayurvedic" industry and make it more popular in the
world.
The FKC Company was also promoting the concept of consuming natural
food supplements for preventive health with the motto "Bring better
health to planet earth", it is considered as a great opportunity to be
involved in this national initiative of assisting to uplift the status
of the indigenous medicine industry. Over 350 persons visited the "Suva
Divi Sariya" health camp and got free consultations and medical
services,such as, blood sugar checkups, analysis of blood pressure,
analysis of body compositions and eye checks from qualified medical
experts. FKC Health Cards were presented to participants.The FKC Company
also organized a lecture on the subject -The importance of food
supplements for optimum health from 17 Ayurveda doctors nominated by the
Indigenous Medicine Ministry, during the health camp. During the
workshop, the company also introduced the importance of standardized
certification, such as, GMP certifications from regulatory bodies and
institutions to boost the Ayurveda sector.
The doctors interactively participated and clarified many areas of
the latest findings of the herbs, plants and seeds that have natural
ingredients.
Since the project has created a significant impact of the presence of
FKC company's services and contribution to the improvement of public
health in society, the company plans to collaborate further with the
Indigenous Medicine Ministry to organize more isladwide health camps as
part of the FKC public services and cooperate social responsibility
projects to society.
The second "Suva Divi Sariya" health camp will be conducted at the
Galle Divisional Secretariat on August 29.
