Award-winning poet Kumara Kawiraja's latest poetry collection
'Sekarata Gamen Liyumak' will be discussed at Sri Lanka Press Council
(opposite Castle Hospital, Rajagiriya) on August 17 at 4 pm. The
collection is a epic poem written as a letter to late poet Mahagama
Sekara. Professor Sunanda Mahendra, Daya Disanayaka and a host of Sekara
scholars will participate in the discussion.
Sarachchandra commemoration
The 16th commemorative ceremony of Professor Ediriweera Sarachchandra
will be launched at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute on August 15 at 3 pm.
Jayalath Manoratne, Jackson Anthony, Dhamma Disanayaka and Aththanayaka
M Herath will deliver key speeches. Parts from the late dramatist's
plays will also be staged. Professor Ariyaratne Athugala's books 'Vis
Muhunu haa Vishpaurushayanaya' and 'Mahasamayama haa Ethic Natyavedaya'
will also be launched to coincide with the commemoration. |
