Three infants among illegal migrants

Twenty five persons who attempted to illegally migrate to Australia from Beruwala were arrested yesterday morning, police said. The group, residents of Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya and Mannar, included three women, a 10 -year-old girl and three infants (two girls and a boy).

Four of the asylum seekers are Sinhala speaking persons including a woman.

They are residents of Maggona, Moratuwa and Mount Lavinia. The suspect from Moratuwa operated the illegal measure, police said.

Among the group, one was from Akurana. They were to be produced before the Kalutara magistrate. Beruwala Police are investigating.
