MP Namal Rajapaksa tells Korean job aspirants:

‘There is no shortcut to success’

‘There is no way of finding a job in Korea unless the candidate gets the required marks at the Korean Language Proficiency Test (KLPT). The opinion that the KLPT can be passed through SMS is not true and those methods will never be applicable to pass the test, Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa said.

He was addressing a ceremony where a Korean language training programme commenced for Korean job applicants to be eligible to sit for the KLPT, at the Tangalle Urban Council auditorium on Monday. The Korean Language Training Programme was organized by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) to improve the Korean language skills of Sri Lankan job seekers in Korea.

“ If you want to pass the exam, you should work hard and be studious. Before sitting the test , a real comprehension of the test should be given. If you don’t work hard, you will find the test difficult. This test will be a very easy task for those who study the Korean language well, “he said.

“There is no shortcut to success. Be honest and true to yourself. You cannot go to Korea without being familiar with the language.

‘Therefore, it is compulsory to attend Korean language classes. Don’t give up the courses while they are in progress, “he requested. Foreign Employment Minister Dilan Perera had directed all officials to conduct this test in a very coherent and transparent manner and enhance the efficiency of the test as well.

“As a direct result of those methodologies adopted, Sri Lanka was crowned as the best country, by South Korea, which provided skilled labour from all around the world.

“The South Korean government presented a memento to President Mahinda Rajapaksa inn appreciation of this fact,” he added.

“I appreciate the Minister’s role in maintaining the tasks in relation to providing skilled Sri Lankan labour to Korea in a very efficient manner,” he said.

The issuing of KLPT application forms will commence from August 20 to 24 at all SLBFE branches and at six locations in Colombo on August 25. The exam will be held on October 13,14 in Colombo. A special progarmme has been adopted to minimize exam frauds too.
