‘Maha Sangha’s blessings help people to lead exemplary lives’

Blessings and guidance offered by the Maha Sangha enable people to better their prospects and lead exemplary lives, Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkhitha Mahanayake Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter said.

The prelate said so delivering an anusasana at daham hamuwa held at the Palugolla Sri Vapikaramaya Nikaweratiya to mark the opening of a new two-storeyed sanghavasa and vesting it in the Maha Sangha.

The new sanghawasa was built at a cost of Rs 4 million under a programme sponsored by former minister Rohitha Bogollagama and Mrs. Deepthi Bogollagama through their own funds to mark the 700th anniversary of the Asgiriya Viharaya Chapter. Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkhitha Mahanayake Thera said the Vapikaramaya is a temple affiliated to the Asgiriya Vihara Chapter and the people in the area should thank former minister Bogollagama and his wife for their meritorious act in providing much needed modern facilities to make it a fully-fledged Buddhist temple.

The daham hamuwa concluded with a sanghika dana offered to 100 bhikkhus at the venue.
