A pharma industry team from India is to visit Sri Lanka next week to
work out details of the proposed pharmaceutical manufacturing hub to be
built in Sri Lanka. This was disclosed by an Indian High Commission
official at a press conference held to announce the fourth edition of
The Jaffna International Trade Fair (JITF) 2013.
“We have seen great enthusiasm among Indian companies, specially
South Indian companies to participate in JITF, 2013. India had promoted
and encouraged Indian industrialists to participate in the last three
JITFs with the support of respective stakeholders.
The fourth edition of Jaffna International Trade Fair 2013 is set to
be held at Doraiappa Ground, Jaffna from January 18-20, 2013. The next
year exhibition is poised to be one of the biggest exhibitions in the
Jaffna peninsula and India as the partner country of JITF, 2013 will
have a special pavilion in next year's fair showcasing the best that
India has to offer to the North. Jaffna is still an untapped market and
the next year fair will be a stepping stone for industrialists
both home and abroad to enroll into this market.
The JITF caters to a wide audience which covers almost all facets
that are a part and parcel of the Jaffna lifestyle. The exhibition will
showcase industries and not be confined to construction, agriculture,
food and beverage and packaging etc.
The trade fair held last year was a tremendous success with over
60,000 visitors participating at the exhibition during the span of three
day and is considered the best opportunity to witness the changing
dimensions of industries, to create new contacts and find suppliers and
customers to their evolving needs.
Organizers of the event, presidential awarding winning Lanka
Exhibition and Conference Services believe that this is the most potent
opportunity for investors to meet budding new business and make an entry
to the region.
“The North is now going through a rapid development phase, with
livelihoods and enterprises transforming in a revolutionary manner. The
JIFT is the best opportunity to build trade links between the other
parts of the country, the rest of the world and the people of the
region.”
“It provides the most efficient and effective means of communicating
and being a part of one of the most rich and diverse but untapped
territories of our island nation” Imran Hassan Director LECS said. |
