Bedi Prize 2012 to Sri Lankan doctor

Dr. Yanushi Dullewe Wijeyeratne was awarded the Bedi Memorial Prize 2012 for her contributions to research in Cardiovascular Medicine at the Department of Cardiovascular medicine, University of Nottingham UK on July 30. Yanushi had presented her research at several international scientific conferences in Geneva, Austria, Japan and Boston, USA over the past several years.

The Bedi Memorial Prize is an annual prize awarded in memory of M.P. Bedi for research in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Nottingham, UK.

Dr. Wijeyeratne who previously practised at Nottingham University Hospitals, was recently awarded a fellowship at the Department of Cardiology at St. George's Hospital, London where she is currently specializing. She was a past pupil of Bishop's College, British School in Colombo and Colombo International School. She was a scholar at Colombo International School for her academic excellence.
