Govt has improved state institutions -Minister Weerawansa

The present government has taken measures to improve the standards of state institutions while preserving workers' rights,Constructions,Engineering Services,Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa said.

He said there was an era when state institutions declined due to the influence of the free economic policies and that trend has been stopped as a result of the policies adopted by the present government.

The Minister was addressing the opening ceremony of the Government Factory Quarters Complex in Kolonnawa. "Under the leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa the government has taken measures to increase the salaries of government workers. It has paid attention to solve the problems of the people." the Minister said.

He said the State Engineering Corporation is an institution that renders great service to the country. It has succeeded to secure a gold medal for service. The government has given construction opportunities to government institutions, which has enabled them to archive success in their works. The official website of the State Engineering Corporation www.govtfactory.gov.lk was launched under the patronage of Minister Weerawansa.
