'More joint ventures between Lanka and Malaysia'
The 18th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Malaysia Business
Council (SLMBC) was held at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce recently an

Ltd was elected to continue as the President of the Council for the year
2012/2013.

Azmi Zainuddin, High Commissioner for Malaysia in Sri Lanka and Chief
Guest in his speech stated that he looks forward to future support of
the council for various activities and also stated that the High
commission looks forward to support the council in all its activities.
She mentioned that the incoming Committee would encourage more joint
ventures between Sri Lanka and Malaysia, exchange information on trade &
investment, conduct joint meetings with Malaysian business organizations
in Sri Lanka and Malaysia and will serve as a recognized representative
of the business sector interests in Sri Lanka.
Mrs. Nilrukshi De Silva, Head of Business Development, Macksons
Paints Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and Manjula Thawalampitiya, Senior Vice President
- Finance & Administration, Epic Lanka Group were appointed as Vice
Presidents respectively.

The Council, which focuses on the objectives of 'promoting
investment, trade and joint ventures between Sri Lanka and Malaysia',
functions under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. Membership
of the Council is open to individual persons, partnerships, companies,
corporations or other organizations engaged in trade, tourism or
services with Malaysia or engaged in joint ventures with Malaysian
organizations or interested in entering into or promoting trade,
tourism, services or joint ventures with Malaysian organizations. |
