Nelum Pokuna Theatre gets Rs 3 b comprehensive cover

Sri Lanka Insurance has successfully secured the opportunity of insuring the The Nelum Pokuna Theatre is considered a national asset and the Sri Lanka Insurance was able to win the tender to provide the insurance coverage.

The process was transparent and discipline was emphasised where there were many bidders. However, Sri Lanka Insurance was successful in winning the tender, Sri Lanka Insurance General Insurance Chief Officer Ansley J Alles said.

The Nelum Pokuna which is a replica of Nelum Pokuna in Polonnaruwa is built according to international standards at a cost of Rs 3 billion with the funding of China which accounted for 60 percent. We are very proud to be associated with the theatre in the capacity of the insurer, he said at the policy handing ceremony held yesterday.

Sri Lanka insurance has invested Rs 91 billion and is the largest and most profitable insurer in Sri Lanka.
