Arrested while packaging heroin

A suspect was arrested with 3.320 grams of heroin while packaging it in small bags at his home by Mihintalaya Police yesterday. The suspect was preparing small packets of heroin with the intention of selling them, interrogations revealed.

Police also seized five packets of heroin and 100 polythene bags in his possession. Police said the suspect's wife was in Police custody on an earlier occasion.

The suspect, a resident of Samagipura, Matale Junction, Anuradhapura was produced before Anuradhapura Magistrate Court yesterday.
