Stuntsman hospitalized

A car stuntsman, who was seriously injured after his car went out of control and crashed while performing a car stunt at a Maraka Linda at the Esala Mela Carnival in Kandy, was admitted to Kandy hospital.

Two children viewing the stunt on the spectators’ platform were also injured. Kandy Police said the stuntsman who was under the influence of alcohol could not control the vehicle as it reached the brink of the stunt surface and one of the tyres of the car almost tipped over. Kandy Police are investigating.
