Min Visithuru 2012 enhances global access

Min Visithuru 2012, an ornamental fish and display tank competition organized by the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry and the National Aquaculture Development Authority (NAQDA) in collaboration with the Economic Development Ministry will be held from August 3 to 5 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC).

Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne in his address said, the main objective of the exhibition is to enhance global access to ornamental fish and aquarium plant entrepreneurs. The Minister said: "Sri Lanka covers three percent market share in the global ornamental fish trade and should increase it to 10 percent.

"The Ministry has set up a special training centre in Rabbadagala to train entrepreneurs." he said.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 10.00 am to 09.00 pm on the three days and entrance is free of charge for students attending in their school uniforms.
