Vandalizing of Gandhi statue condemned

A resolution condemning the vandalizing of the Mahathma Gandhi statue at the Ariyalai Community Centre was unanimously passed at the Jaffna Municipal Council monthly meeting.

The leader of Opposition Vinthan proposed the resolution which was unanimously passed by the members.

Meanwhile the Jaffna Police arrested two persons on suspicion and produced them before the Jaffna magistrate who remanded them till August 3.
