For the first time in Sri Lanka, Leapset, a US based company is
looking at introducing recently developed software where uses could pay
their restaurant bill online before entering the venue.
Mani Kulasooriya, vice president, Leapset California, said that this
system was now successfully being implemented in Germany, UK and would
be introduced to Spain soon. "This product is very successful with a 30
% penetration."
In Sri Lanka, we see a great potential for this product since the
smart phone use is increasing rapidly. Under this system, a smart phone
user could select a restaurant and a meal according to his choice an
order and request for a billing from the phone. "When the user enters
the restaurant both the meal served and the bill had been settled thus
saving time."
Leapset hopes to first use city restaurants and then spreadout to
salons, gyms, spa and yoga centres. "we will then look at the hotel
circuit," he said. |
