President at Ruhunu-Kataragama Maha Devale Esala Perahera

President Mahinda Rajapaksa was among the devotees at the 10th Perahera of the Ruhunu-Kataragama Maha Devale Esala Festival on Saturday night.

President Rajapaksa paid homage at the Sacred Kirivehara premises and received blessings. After worshipping the Kirivehera, the President performed religious rites at the Ashtapala Bodhiya. The President also visited the Kataragama Maha Devalaya and received blessings.

He also visited the Chief Incumbent of the Kirivehera Rajamaha Viharaya and the Chancellor of the Uva University Venerable Dr. Aluthweva Soratha Thera. The President viewed the Perahera and paid homage to the ‘Sadhathuka Karanduwa’(Relics Casket).
