Yasitha excels for BRC

Yasitha Abeykoon dominated on the first day by scoring a half century and then capturing four wickets against CCC in their SLC Under-23 three-day match played at BRC Grounds yesterday.

Right arm leg spinner Sachithra Perera was impressive for CCC to restrict BRC at 152 by taking six wickets for 20 runs. CCC's right arm fast bowler Vikum Sajanaya got a hat-trick.

BRC: First innings - 152 in 44 overs (Yasitha Abeykoon 51, Fahim Saleem 20, Madushan Ravichandrakumar 32, Sachithra Perera 6/20, Vikum Sanjaya 3/51).

CCC: First innings - 188/8 in 44 overs (Damith Priyadarshana 60, Dimuth Warapitiya 24, Dushan Vimukthi 34 n.o, Yasitha Abeykoon 4/26).

Imran shines for Bloomfield

Imran Khan shone for Bloomfield by grabbing five wickets for 27 runs and helped restrict Navy at 140 on the first day in their SLC Under-23 cricket match played at Bloomfield yesterday . After Bloomfield resumed their innings, Ruvindu Sharmen struck a half century and was unbeaten on 59 by stump.

Navy: First innings - 140 in 38.2 overs (Yohan Kumara 51 n.o, Buddhika Alwis 27, Duleeka Tissakutti 25, Imran Khan 5/27, Nipun Karunanayake 2/17).

Bloomfield: First innings - 163/3 in 49 overs (Ruvinda Sharmen 59 n.o, Charith Kumarasinghe 31, Nipun Karunanayake 28).

Nipun props up Moors

Moors scored a healthy total of 277 with the help of Nipun Karunanayake's half century against Ragama CC played at Colts Grounds yesterday. Nisala Tharaka took five wickets for 58 runs for Ragama CC. At stump, Ragama CC were 16 for no loss.

Chathura Damith excelled with the bat scoring brilliant 81 runs to reach 287 for the first innings against Army in their battle at SLC Under-23 match played at Rifle Grounds yesterday. Left-arm leg spinner Buddhika Sandaruwan of Air Force captured seven wickets for 82.
