Jobs for railway employees' children

The Transport Ministry will provide jobs to railway employees' children. Under this move, 174 children of railway workers were given letters of appointment for the post of substitute labourer at a ceremony at the Railway Department headquarters, Colombo yesterday.

The selection for the appointments was made covering all trade unions of Sri Lanka Railways (SLR).

These appointment letters were given to sons and daughters of retired, dead and present employees of the SLR .

These workers are entitled to a daily pay.
