3M adds value to IT industry through experiential training
3M Sri Lanka hosted it seventh Volition Integration Professionals
(VIP) Installer certification programme to key customers and business
partners recently in a bid to boost the IT sector in the country. The
three day workshop saw 61 participants from 30 corporate and government
institutions converge to experience hands-on training on premise
cabling.
Chansool Park - APAC Application Development Engineer in the
Communication Markets Division was at hand to deliver valuable training
to the participants, which included an overview of structured cabling,
international standards, design concepts, intelligent pair management
concepts, estimation, splicing and termination methods, testing,
validation, site certification and its warranty procedures.
Suren Rajanathan, Vice President 3M Sri Lanka, states that "with
emerging market trends in the infrastructure development sector, we
believe that Sri Lanka should maintain global standards and be
innovative to attract the emerging market opportunities such as BPO's,
e-health services, data storage centres. This will be based on
performance-oriented user patterns such as speed, clarity and continues
connectivity of the network. The future is fibre and we will make every
attempt to introduce innovative solutions to the local market".
