Maliyadeva girls emerge champions in John Tarbet Athletic Meet

The 43rd John Tarbet Athletic Championship organized by Schools Athletics Association under the sponsorship of Nestle Lanka PLC concluded at Mahaweli Stadium, Embilipitiya recently. Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya won the overall girls championship and the under- 15 girls championship including six gold medals, a silver medal and a four merit certificates.

They were on top of the points table scoring 70 points. Maliyadevians excelled in under 15 high jump, 100x 4 relay, under 14 long jump.Veteran athletics trainer Sumedha Jayakody was the Maliyadeva girls’ coach.
