Wife held for killing husband 11 years ago

A wife who killed her husband by deploying a person with a payment of Rs 25,000 was taken into custody along with two others after 11 years.

The victim was a resident of Kirawana Ella, Millawana in Matale.

The wife lodged a complaint with Mahawela Police that the husband had disappeared since December 2001. Meanwhile, a sister of the deceased, a resident of Embilipitiya returned home after a few years in a foreign country and inquired about her brother.

As she did not get a reply from the brother’s wife, she had lodged a complaint with police that she suspected her brother’s wife for the disappearance of her brother.

Police took into custody the wife of the deceased. On interrogation, she revealed that a person was deployed with a payment to kill her husband by shooting him.
