Dupay De Lome on maiden visit to Lanka
The maiden visit of a French naval ship, Dupay De Lome arrived at the
scenic Trincomalee Harbour on July 2 on a goodwill visit. She was
ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy.
The Commanding Officer, Commander Gregolfe Germain, accompanied by
the French ambassador to Sri Lanka, Christine Robichon paid a courtesy
call on the Commander, Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral Jayanath
Colombage. They held cordial discussions and exchanged mementos as a
gesture of goodwill.
Dupay De Lome,102 metres in length with a displacement of 4500 tons.
is an auxiliary ship of the French Navy. The ship carries a complement
of 102 naval personnel including 11 officers and 91 sailors. The
visiting French ship will be in Sri Lanka until July 7.
