Thomians win easily

St Thomas College, Mount Lavinia beat Wesley College, Colombo easily by 89 runs in their inter school under 17 division one cricket tournament match organized by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and played at Mount Lavinia.

Taking the first lease, Thomians scored 172 runs with Sahan Wijesinghe making the top score of 46 and Dulan Bandara bagged 4 for 23 for the visitors.

In reply Wesleyites were dismissed for 83 runs with Kulunu Rodrigo doing the damage with 4 for 8 runs.

Chief scores

St Thomas 172 in 46.3 overs (Sahan Wijesinghe 46, Danush Peiris 25, Helakamal Nanayakkara 21, Nipun Gamage 13, C Rukshan 2 for 39, Dulan Bandara 4 for 23).

Wesley 83 in 33 overs (Heshan Seneviratne 32, Kulunu Rodrigo 4 for 8, Nipun Gamage 2 for 13, Ravindu Thilakarathne 2 for 14).
