Police investigate accident

Police initiated a comprehensive investigation into the accident at Dambokka that killed five persons, including a retired Army officer returning from a wedding on Sunday. The victims were travelling in a three wheeler which crashed into a private bus bound for Polgahawela from Kurunegala at Dambokka.

A mother and a child were among the victims. Police arrested the driver of the private bus.

The mother and child are residents of Dabepola and the others residents of Damunugoda in the Kurunegala district.
