National Plantation Award ceremony for first time in SL

The National Plantation Award ceremony organised by the Plantation Industries Ministry will be held in Sri Lanka for the first time on July 12 at Temple Trees under President Mahinda Rajapaksa's patronage, an Information Department release said.

This is a concept of Plantation Industries Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe. The main objective of the award ceremony is to appreciate the contribution to the economy by tea and rubber plantation sectors in Sri Lanka.

Around 90 planters and exporters involved in the tea and rubber plantation sectors will receive awards.
