Workshop on cultural heritage

The Culture and the Arts Ministry in collaboration with UNESCO
organised the first national workshop on the implementation of UNESCO
2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The workshop is held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute from June
25 to 29.
It will be attended by national and international professionals in
the field.
UNESCO has been organising such workshops in various regions aiming
at an efficient implementation of the convention at national and global
levels. These workshops are funded by the Japanese government under the
UNESCO- Japan Funds in Trust Cooperation framework, a Culture and the
Arts Ministry spokesperson said.
