Dengue eradication campaign in Jaffna

eradicate dengue.

An officer said the troops of the 23rd Gemunu Watch and 15th Sri
Lanka National Guard serving under the 552 Brigade participated in the
programme.
Garbage dumps, abundant lands, blocked drains and other mosquito
breeding places were cleaned during the dengue prevention campaign.
In addition, Polythene and other waste items scattered around the
area were collected and set on fire.
Pachchilaippalli Pradeshiya Sabha cooperated with the soldiers to
make this programme a success.
Meanwhile, Pallai Public Health Inspector's office soldiers and
officials went from door to door and gave necessary instructions which
help prevent environmental pollution and maintain sanitation in the
area.
In addition, posters and banners were displayed in the town to
educate the public on dengue and preventive measures.
Nearly 65 soldiers took part in this one day anti-dengue programme.
