Police investigate alleged abduction

Wanduramba Police initiated investigations into an alleged abduction of the son in law of the "controversial Preacher" in Wanduramba, Galle who is assumed to have propagated a misreading doctrine of Buddhism, on a complaint by the wife of the abducted person.

The preacher's seven storeyed residence was allegedly attacked by a group of people following a conference organized by the Galu Bodhu Pavura Organzation in Wanduramba on Sunday.

According to the complaint by the allegedly abducted person's wife, her husband, a resident of Boossa, Galle had been forcibly put into a vehicle and taken to a temple at Indurupathwila, Baddegama on the day of the attack on the preacher's house while he was opposite the house. The complainant has furnished the registration number of the vehicle alleged to have been used for the abduction. She has told Police that after few hours of the abduction her husband had been released.

Police investigations revealed that there had been no one at the temple at the time of the incident as all resident monks were participating in the conference organized by the Galu Bodhu Pavura organization.
