The Office of the Chief of Defence, in keeping with the government’s
vision of empowering women, will conduct a course in beauty culture for
women in the Army, Navy and Air Force, who are retiring from active
service.
This will be conducted in collaboration with Seri Naturals (Pvt)
Limited and under the guidance of Defence and Urban Development Ministry
Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa empowering women with skills and knowledge
to set up their own business in beauty care.
The workshop will be launched today. It will be conducted by hair

week for one month.
The workshop will cover areas such as how to set up your own
business, performing a cleanup, bridal dressing and basics of beauty
culture.
A graduation ceremony will be held at the end of the programme where
participants who successfully complete the workshop will be awarded a
certificate.
“These trained entrepreneurs will also be an asset to the economy as
they would be providing employment to other young girls in their town.
This programme marks another important milestone in the vocational
