Ridma DISSANAYAKE
Knowledge and education are the capital for a future world. As a
result, education is the most valuable and profitable gift which parents
can give their children. But, education alone will not suffice if
parents fail to teach their children proper manners and instill
discipline in them, FIsheries and Aquatic Resources Development Minister
Dr.Rajitha Senarathne said.
Minister Senaratne was participating as Chief Guest at the annual
prize giving of Alhameera Vidyalaya, Aluthgama, recently.
“Parents are duty bound to lead an exemplary life at home and in
society if they are to make their children’s lives brighter. Parents
must be perfect role models to their children.”he added.
“Sri Lanka is the only country in the world that provides total free
health care and free education facilities,” the minister said.
“The government will continue to provide more facilities, together
with developing country’s infrastructure facilities. Therefore, it is
the responsibility of all to assist the government in this task. All
parts of the country should support the massive development programme in
progress without thinking on political lines, he said. Alhameera
Vidyalaya Principal also spoke. |
