A'pura Sri Dalada Perahera on July 2, 3

The Anuradhapura Sri Dalada Perahera will be held on July 2 and 3.

The perahera originated during the time of King Kithsirimewan.

About 20 elephants and upcountry, low country, Sabaragamuwa and Rajarata dancers will add colour to the perahera. The perahera will start from the Eastern entrance of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and arrive at the Abayagiriya Chetiya passing Thuparama Ruwanweli Chetiya along Anula Mawatha on the first day.

The perahera will pass Lions Pillar on July 3 evening, proceed to market town along the main street and reach the sacred bo tree premises.
