Stafford Motor Co moves ahead with two wins

Sponsors, Stafford Motor Co. had smooth ride to their second win, beating CIC by 08 wickets in the on going “Honda” Trophy, MCA “G” division 30 –overs League Tournament, continued last week end.

Week-end’s highlights

Barathi Airtel notched up the highest team total, 226 for 9 in 30-overs and went on to win by 101 runs over debutants, Ecollege Lanka.

Nations Trust Bank ‘B’ shot out for 74 runs in 21.3 thus recording the lowest total and losing to Odel by 06 wickets.

The batting honors went to Dilan Sandirigoda from Lankem Ceylon (89 not out in 80 balls, 05 sixes and 8 fours Vs. Nation Lanka Finance), Praboda Devasiri from Amba Research (83 not out in 80 balls, 4 sixes and 10 fours Vs. Interpharm) and Suresh Niroshan from Interpharm (81 not out in 43 balls, 05 sixes and 9 fours Vs. Amba Research). The bowlers to hog the lime light were Asiru Shiroman from Odel (5 for 11 in 06 overs Vs. NTB ‘B’) and K.D.A.N. Perera from United Tobacco Processing (5 for 15 in 2.5 overs Vs. Swedish Trading).
