Peterites fight-back to beat Antonians

St Peter's College, Bambalapitiya had a big scare before defeating down in the table St Anthony's College, Kandy by 31 points (3 goals, 2 tries) to 22 (1 goal, 3 tries) on their schools Under 19 Division A rugby tournament match played at Nittawela on Saturday. At half time the Antonians led 22-5. The Antonians should consider themselves unlucky not to have won this match as they dominated the game till the final stages. When the referee blew the final whistle an angry crowd invaded the field alleging that some extra minutes had been given. The media coordinator for St Anthony's College Rugby Club said that they will be lodging a written protest on this issue.

The try scores for St Peter's College were scrum half Ruchira Perera (1), full back Kevin Dickson (1), hooker Shenal Aponso (1), flanker Royston Hanson (1) and centre Imal Rushantha (1). Fly half Dulaj Perera goalled three tries. For the Antonians hooker Yakoob Ali (2 tries), scrum half Thilan Jagoda (1) and prop Indu Prasad (1) scored and fly half Fazlal Rahman added the extra points to one of the tries.
