Accidents claim two

A cyclist died on admission to the Colombo North General Hospital, Ragama, after being knocked down by a motorcycle.

G Samuvel Balachandra, 65, a father of four of Uswatta, Kandana was knocked down by a motorcycle near Kandana Town on the Colombo - Negombo Road on Tuesday.

The motorcyclist was also admitted to hospital with serious injuries.

Kandana Police are investigating.

Meanwhile, a father of four died on the spot when he was knocked down by a CTB bus on Friday.

The victim was identified as N T Dominic Perera, 58, of Kanuwana, Ja Ela.

He was knocked down at Weligampitiya Junction on the Colombo - Negombo road.

Kandana Police took the bus and driver into custody.

Kandana Police are investigating.
