Jathika Namal Uyana Poson festival

A specially designed T-shirt has been produced to mark the 21st anniversary of the Jathika Namal Uyana. The first T-shirt was presented to the President of the Namal Uyana Development Trust Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa by Kumarasiri Hettige, Secretary of Trust and President’s Coordinator on Parliamentary Affairs, at the President’s Office at the Kotte Parliamentary Complex recently. Founder of the Jathika Namal Uyana Ven Wanawasi Rahula Thera and Namal Uyana Development Trust Advisor Parliamentarian Malani Fonseka were also present on the occasion.

A Poson festival of the Jathika Namal Uyana will be held from June 3 to 5 jointly sponsored by the Galkiriyagama Police Station, Civil Security Higher Training School and the Halmillewa Army Mechanical Infantry Regiment Camp.

Founder of the Jathika Namal Uyana with the biggest rose quartz deposit in South Asia, Ven Wanawasi Rahula Thera said all facilities including security, drinking water, toilets and vehicle parks are in place to cater to the large member of devotees expected from all parts of the country to participate in the festival. He has also requested devotees to help keep the Namal Uyana clean by disposing of their litter methodically and desisting from bringing polythene bags and polythene which will damage the environment.
