Ihala Beligalla Regional Hospital opens

The Ihala Beligalla Regional Hospital in Beliatta rehabilitated at a cost of Rs. 34 million was opened by First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa on Monday. This hospital which was a rural hospital earlier has been one of the oldest hospitals in the Beliatta Divisional Secretariat Division in Tangalle electorate.

The hospital serves people in 15 Grama Niladhari divisions. The rehabilitation programme funded by the Health Development Fund and State Institutions was implemented under the supervision of Hambantota District Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa.

A two storeyed administrative building has also been constructed under this programme which included many other modern sophisticated facilities. Parliamentarian Kamala Ranatunge, Provincial Council Member Somawansa Kodagoda, Beliatta Pradesheeya Sabha Chairman M.K. Kasun and Dr. K.P. Jayanetti were present at the opening ceremony.
