SLT Mobitel platinum sponsor of Carlton Super Sevens

Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel takes pride in sponsoring one of the country's largest ever sporting activities - the Carlton Super Sevens Rugby Tournament 2012. Committed to converge world class technology with the widest reach, Mobitel sees this sporting opportunity as a boon for Sri Lanka sports as a whole. The sheer stature of the event conducted in line with international sporting standards, with the advent of globally renowned sporting personalities, will undoubtedly elevate the standards of local Rugby and sports in general to a new level.

In the modern world, communication is the answer to complexity and demands that require speed and efficiency. Like in the game of rugby, these are key elements in the Brand's DNA, which has successfully delivered the fastest Internet services this country has ever experienced. As such, in alliance with the sponsorship given to the Carlton Super Sevens Rugby, Mobitel will also be webcasting the event online via Mobitel's recently launched mEvents platform (http://mevent.mobitel.lk/csn) - enabling anyone with an internet connection both to watch the Rugby 7s live from either a computer or even their mobile handset whether living in Sri Lanka or anywhere else in the world.

With the widest coverage around the country, Mobitel is determined to lead the ICT transformation of Sri Lanka. The Carlton Super Sevens Rugby Tournament 2012 is symbolic of this vision as the sporting event endeavors to connect teams representing the different districts of the country, to one gigantic challenge.

While inviting the youth of Sri Lanka to engage in the positive spirit of sport, this event organized for the fourth consecutive year by 'Tharunyata Hetak' the largest youth organization inspired by its founder MP Namal Rajapaksa will set a new benchmark in the local sporting arena.

The Carlton Super Sevens will be conducted under the supervision of Sri Lanka Rugby Football (SLRFU), the Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) and the International Rugby Union, infusing international standards to the local sporting fraternity.
