Isipatana College ran riot to annihilate D. S. Senanayake College by 111 points ( 13 goals, four tries ) to 10 ( a goal and a penalty) in their Singer segment one ‘A’ division under 19 rugby match played at Longden Place yesterday at the breather Isipatana led 45 -3.

Isipatana opened scoring early in the game through a try by Shenal Dias. Soon after Kavindu De Costa also scored an unconverted try. This was followed by tries from Hasitha Premaratne, Uditha Premathilake and Kushan Silva Then Shenal Dias scored his second try with fly half Hirantha Perera converting five tries The Senanayakians failed to reduce the considerable margin and had to be satisfied with a try by Lahiru Rajakaruna and a conversion by Praneeth Lakmal. The scores read 45 – 3 at half time.

In the second half, Isipatana went on the rampage to add 66 more points through tries by Uditha Premathilake, Hirantha Perera(two), Hasitha Premaratne, Kavindu De Costa(two), Sithum Chathushka, Arun Kumar, Sandeep Himasha(two) while the conversions were done by Kavindu De Costa and Hirantha Perera (seven),D.S.Senanayake scored a three points with a penalty by Prabhath Lakmal. Isipatana were leading 66 – 3.

This is the highest score for the current season by Isipatana and it is the first time that they scored such a gigantic score. The pathana boys were able to penetrate their rivals bacause of their steady and powerful performance.Irshad Ariff referred.
