Planetarium to be developed

The government will develop the Planetarium (Observatory)in Colombo. Rs. 90 million has already granted for the first phase of development activities and another Rs.13 million will be allocated for the second phase.

The planetarium established in 1965 is located at the Colombo University. The income of the astronomical observatory has increased rapidly and the government has decided to modernize the observatory to provide more knowledge about astronomy to its visitors.
