No 20/20 cricket for under 18 players

The Education Ministry in consultation with the Sports Ministry has
taken a policy decision to ban twenty-twenty cricket for school players
below 18 years.
A circular will be issued to all school principals about this
decision requesting them not to allow any cricketer below 18 years age
to participate in twenty twenty games.
This decision was taken at a meeting held at the Education Ministry
yesterday attended by National Institute of Sports Medicine Director
Prof. Arjuna Silva, two representatives of Schools Cricket Association,
and Education Ministry Assistant Secretary and Director School Cricket
Rohana Karunaratne. |
