The Education Ministry in consultation with the Sports Ministry has taken a policy decision to ban twenty-twenty cricket for school players below 18 years.

A circular will be issued to all school principals about this decision requesting them not to allow any cricketer below 18 years age to participate in twenty twenty games.

This decision was taken at a meeting held at the Education Ministry yesterday attended by National Institute of Sports Medicine Director Prof. Arjuna Silva, two representatives of Schools Cricket Association, and Education Ministry Assistant Secretary and Director School Cricket Rohana Karunaratne.
