One dead, three injured of same family

A man died and three women of the same family were hospitalized after they were attacked with sharp weapons at their home in Kumbukkana, Monaragala early last morning.

The householder, H W P A Ranjith succumbed to injuries at the Badulla hospital yesterday. His wife was admitted to Badulla hospital. Their 13 year old daughter and 76 year old mother are being treated at Monaragala hospital.

Police said the alleged suspect had entered the house by force and assaulted them.

Monaragala police have identified the suspect and have launched a search operation to arrest him.
