National Construction Techno Park launched

Construction of the country's first National Construction Technological Park (NCTP) was inaugurated by Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa at the State Engineering Corporation premises at Peliyagoda yesterday.

Construction work will be carried out by the Institute for Construction and Development (ICTAD), State Engineering Corporation, National Engineering Research and Development Centre on the directives of Construction, Engineering Service, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa.

The 21 acre NCTP will be completed in three years. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 240 million. The construction industry received pride of place in the Mahinda Chinthana policy initiative and all stakeholders in the industry will benefit from the park.

The theme park consists of all amenities to prosper the construction industry.

It will present innovative and latest technological know-how and well recognized training on par with international standards in constructions.
