Suspects to make statements in murder case

When the six suspects in the Dr Biyanka Prasad Jayasinghe murder case were produced before the Balapitiya magistrate by the Kalutara prisons officials on May 14, the attorney appearing for the two suspects informed court that their clients were prepared to make a special statement in connection with the murder before the magistrate for which he requested court permission.

The magistrate stated that the suspects may be produced before him on May 21 for this purpose. The attorney who appeared on behalf of the plaint brought to the notice of court that the Government Analyst had not produced his report.

The magistrate ordered all suspects to be remanded further till May 28.
