Kapilawasthu relics exposition from Aug 20

The Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs Ministry together with the
Presidential Secretariat and the Indian High Commission has made
arrangements for the exposition of Kapilawasthu Sacred Relics from
August 20 to September 5.
The Indian Prime Minister in response to a request made by President
Mahinda Rajapaksa agreed to send the Kapilawasthu Sacred Relics to Sri
Lanka to provide an opportunity for Sri Lankan Buddhists to pay homage.
A bilateral agreement in this respect was signed by National Museum
of New Delhi Director General Praveen Sriwastava and Buddhasasana and
Religious Affairs Ministry Secretary H P C Herath yesterday.

also participated. The exposition will be conducted at Manel Wattha
Viharaya, Kelaniya, Sri Sumangala Pirivena, Wariyapola, Sri
Sambuddhathwa Jayanthi Viharaya, Anuradhapura, Agrabodhi Viharaya,
Kantale, Sambuddhathwa Jayanthi Viharaya, Gampola, Rajamaha Viharaya,
Pelmadulla and Kotikagoda Rajamaha Viharaya, Matara. |
