Information centre at Ports Authority

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday opened a new information centre at the Ports and Highways Ministry, Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla.

The new information centre will provide information regarding public services in all three languages, through a call centre that could be contacted via 1968.

Through a network of all institutions under the purview of the Ports and Highways Ministry, the public can obtain information on any service provided by the Ministry. The hot line will be open 24 hours.

The objective of the centre is to provide detailed information on all public services under the purview of the Ports and Highways Ministry and its related institutions, efficiently and correctly.

The need has arisen for such a facility as the number of road development and infrastructure development projects have increased sharply, Ports and Highways Deputy Minster Nirmala Kothalawala said.
